Fastag: Must know things

For people who are rushing to their destination, waiting in the toll plaza is a nightmare. To make this easy, the National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) issued an electronic toll tax collector prepaid Fastag card.

Fastag is a device that uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to collect toll tax on roads when vehicles pass through the toll plaza. It has a separate account in the bank from which tax is deducted directly. You need to add money(recharge) to that account beforehand.

Though it is a new concept in India, with increased digitalisation in the Covid period, it easily got adopted. Fastag gives you a smooth experience in the toll booth or plaza and, saves you from long-waiting queues and storming for cash in your pockets and listening to people yelling at you for hurrying up.

Why pay double toll tax?

We have been talking about FasTag since 2014, which was optional initially but later in the year 2021, the Indian government made it compulsory. As per the new rule, if your vehicle doesn’t have a card then you will be charged double the toll tax. Its price is very minimal. Even many vendors near toll plazas can issue or reissue the card in urgent cases, but it would end up wasting your travel time.
To avoid such a situation of urgency, you can now issue fastag from the comfort of your home at a very reasonable price and we will deliver to you within a told time period and provides you great after-issuance service and instant recharge feature. Click here to buy

Does Fastag need to be renewed?

A Fastag card or sticker is only valid for a duration of 5 years from the date of issuance. After 5 years, you need to reissue it again for experiencing the non-stop services.
Only one card or sticker can be issued for one vehicle. It is connected to your vehicle registration number. You would need to inactivate your old card if you want to buy a new card or sticker or still have the old fastag with left validity, This could be done easily, just inform the issuer and he will quickly do it for you.

Do Fastag recharge end after some time?

Once brought the card, you only need to recharge the Fastag account as per your usage. Recharge has no separate duration validity, it entirely depends on how much money is used. You can spend the same sum of money for example in 2 months if you travel less often and, the same could be spent in 2 weeks if you travel rigorously.
You can recharge a minimum of 100 rupees to a maximum of 1 lakh rupees.

How to check the balance of Fastag?

There are several ways you can check your balance:

  • Through SMS: whenever a toll tax is deducted, a message is sent to your registered phone number, which contains all the details of fastag.
  • Through the website: Along with the card, you would receive a Tag ID in SMS. (Tag ID is also called User ID or Customer ID). You can log in to the Fastag portal of your fastag service provider or bank and register with Tag id. Login with your ID password to your fastag account and check your account balance.
